The UMS Difference
Partnering with Parents
The UNIVERSITY-MODEL®

Spirit Christian Academy (SCA) is a University-Model® School. Students meet on campus 2-3 days a week for classroom instruction. On the other 2-3 weekdays, students engage in learning and further study at home under the guidance of the parent who serves as a co-teacher. Together they follow a teacher-generated lesson plan in a unique partnership that characterizes the UMS. Following the UMS schedule provides parents quality time to invest in the educational process of their children.

Education

SCA offers a quality, cost effective education that produces college-ready graduates in a way that gives parents more time to impart love, faith, and moral values into their children.

EQUIPPING

SCA strives to equip each student to reach their personal goals while pursuing academic excellence, spiritual development and, most importantly, passion for God.

RELATIONSHIPS

SCA values the importance of relationships with family, community and Christ.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP

SCA teaches and models true Servant Leadership in all we do.

TIME

SCA values the commodity of time to pursue academics, family, God and His will for our lives.

THE ACADEMIC STRENGTH OF OUR MODEL

After spending over two decades perfecting its hybrid model, SCA has a record of academic excellence with a focus on character development and cultivating an attitude of servant leadership. SCA's robust college preparatory  program works toward meeting the needs of each student while using differentiated teaching strategies and 21st century educational skills. SCA values relationships and places an emphasis on reaching the heart of each student.

THE PARENTAL ROLE AND PARTNERSHIP WITH SCA

Understanding the level of parental involvement will help ensure the success of a SCA student. The parent acts as co-teacher, providing instruction and guidance in the home. The co-teacher receives the following: a teacher generated lesson plan that bridges classroom instruction with home education. Throughout their time at SCA, both parents and students are given access to FACTS SIS to acquire lesson plans and to monitor academic progress.
